Stacey Alleaume - Soprano
Stacey’s passion for music began as a chorister in the National Children’s Choir of Australia (1994-2001). In 2008 Stacey completed her Bachelor of Music at The University of Melbourne. In 2010 she completed her studies in the Performance Program at The Opera Studio Melbourne. Stacey has competed in numerous eisteddfods with exceedingly high results.
Siobhán Stagg - Soprano
Originally from Mildura, Siobhán moved to Melbourne five years ago to pursue a music career. After graduating with an Honours degree in Music Performance from the University of Melbourne in 2009, Siobhán has continued to train privately on scholarship from the Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust. She is increasingly in demand as a concert soloist and is heading to New York City for two months in January 2012.
Hannah Dahlenburg - Soprano
Hannah completed her Bachelor of Music (Performance) with Honours at the Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne, under Rosamund Illing in 2010. As a soloist and ensemble singer she has been a guest artist for Nuova Capella Giulia. She was finalist and prize winner for the 2011 Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Oratorio Competition. Currently Hannah is a recipient of a 2011 Trust Scholarship from the Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust. Paul Biencourt
Paul Biencourt is a graduate of the National Theatre School in Melbourne. His roles for Victorian Opera include Tmolus in the Fight between Phoebus and Pan, Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos (Green Room Award Nominated), all-six tenor roles in Rembrandt's Wife (Green Room Award and Helpmann Award Nominated), andthe Englishman in Angélique. Other Victorian Opera engagements include Mick Davoren in Cockatoo a Victorian Opera commissioned new work and he covered the White King in Through The Looking Glass. For Opera Australia, during 2010, he covered the role of Harry in La Fanciulla del West. His roles for Melbourne Opera include Don Basilio and Curzio in The Marriage of Figaro, Goro in Madam Butterfly and, most recently during 2011 St. Brioche in The Merry Widow.
Music theatre roles include Noel Weiderberg in The Delltones in Shout-The Musical, and roles for The Production Company in The Music Man, Little Me, Kiss Me Kate, Annie Get Your Gun, Sunset Boulevard, Camelot, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Damn Yankees. Concerts include the Christmas In Stonnington and Opera In The Park, Handel's Messiah for Melbourne Opera and Camberwell Chorale and the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Society's Christmas concert in the Melbourne St Paul’s Catherdal. Paul won the people’s choice award at the 2009 RMP oratorio finals.
Adjudicator Ian Cousins
Ian Cousins received his Bachelor of Economics degree at Monash University in 1969, and from 1972 to 1975 attended the National Theatre Opera School in Melbourne. In 1975, he represented Australia in the Pan Pacific finals of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions and won the Victorian State Final of the ABC Instrumental and Vocal Competition. Ian Cousins was a principal baritone with the Victoria State Opera from 1975 until that company merged with the Australian Opera to form Opera Australia. Ian is well known as a recital and concert performer, singing teacher, adjudicator and examiner for various music organisations throughout Australia.
Janet Perkins - Accompanist
Janet studied with Roy Shepherd at the Melbourne Conservatorium. She specialises in vocal accompaniment, and is in great demand for many Eisteddfodau in Melbourne and Regional Victoria. These include Ballarat’s Royal South Street Competitions and the preliminary stages of the Herald Sun Aria. Janet works annually with many students toward tertiary examinations, and with professional singers in recitals and other concerts. |
